Wyoming Route

    Hallo Leutz,


    unsere 5 Wöchige NordWestTour rückt nun immer näher und ich hätte da noch eine paar Fragen. Leider waren wir vorher noch nie östlicher wie Cody...Von Greybull --> Richtung Devilstower via Buffalo führen 2 verschiedene Highways. Wir könnten auf dem Hgwy 14 oder aber auf dem Hgwy 16 zum Devilstower fahren. Übernachtet wird auf jeden Fall in Buffalo. Habt ihr vielleicht einen Tip welcher Highway der schönere bzw. lanschaftlich reizvollere ist ? Für Anregungen und Vorschläge wäre ich Euch sehr dankbar !!

    Wir sind damals via Highway 14 gefahren.


    Gestartet morgens in West Yellowstone.
    Deswegen wurde es ein sehr langer Tag.


    Während ich die Fahrt durch den Shell Canyon mit dem tollen Wasserfall in wunderbarer Erinnerung habe, denk ich mit einem mulmigen Gefühl an die Strecke in der oberen Etage der Bighorn Mountains.
    Wir sind Mitte September in einen unvergesslichen Schneesturm geraten, haben für die relativ kurze Strecke vom Shell Canyon nach Dayton fast drei Stunden gebraucht und sind mehrmals im frischen Tiefschnee stecken geblieben.
    Wir waren damals heilfroh, in Ranchester auf die Interstate 90 zu kommen und haben im Motel 6 in Sheridan übernachtet.
    Ankunft war glaub ich 21:00 ...


    War eine sehr interessante Etappe, die ich nochmal fahren würde.

    Hey Andie,


    vielen Dank für Deinen Tip. Shell Canyon und Wasserfall hört sich gut an und ich denke/hoffe mal Mitte August wird es dort noch keinen Schneesturm geben. Also werden wir den kleinen Umweg auf der 14 gern in Kauf nehmen. Beim rumstöbern im Inet bin ich auf diesen Link gestossen. Sieht schon mal sehr interessant aus.
