Die aktuellen News von meinen Spionen ....

-Ocean 11 is up for sale.
There's a sign on the property with the specs but no price. I
heard it's around 1.5 million USD.
Lots of luck with that in this day and age. They still have quiz
nite on Tuesdays and karaoke on Sundays.

- The Jungle Tree is closed.
It will be reopened under the umbrella of the Lucky Horseshoe
meaning there will be slots there and it will be a 24 hr restaurant.
Scotties is still open and doing quite well. Very busy there on
Sundays.

- Mark is still working with Kim at Gap Bar.
She has karaoke Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays with live
entertainment on the other days. The live entertainment starts at
9:30ish and finishes at 11-11:30ish - not very long!
Actually Kim was in very good mood this trip, even smiling. Very
scary.

-Things are slow at Salt Ash.
There was only one room rented,(USD$100/night-high season), and they
didn't hang around the bar at all. Once the Shaun's English group
left Austin was up at Gap Bar around 9-10 when Mark was working.
George still hasn't sold all the condos. I believe he's renting out
a few of the vacant ones.
Jeffrey doesn't work there anymore. Some of the condo people
were complaining about him always being at Salt Ash bar so when George
had a talk with him he handed over the keys and left.

-They finally demolished Boomers- the whole block.
It was a city block.
They are not going to build condos there since the new government has
put a hold on all future condo building.
That is why the Salt Ash is still standing.

Apparently the guy who bought the whole coast from SA to Rainbow
Reef has been stopped. The building at RR was closed down for a couple
of months since no one is buying now.
There is still the cement jungle across from Time Out but apparently
not one has been sold.

- All the Dover kiosks closed May 1 for renovations.
Seems the Chinese who originally built them use sand from the beach
which of course contained salt so the cement crumbled. They were
supposed to be closed for one month but when we left on May 22 there had
been next to no work done on them.
It was kind of a bummer since there was nowhere to get a drink
unless you went to Southern Palms.

- The Lighthouse across from Souther Palms is finally opened
semi-regularly. They serve a mean fish and chips English style, using
dolphin.
The owner, an Irish guy, plays guitar and sings on the small
patio. They stay opened until early morning which is good to know
if you want a late night drink. The only thing is I'm getting tired
of hearing Cat Stevens' songs. Is there no other artist that lends his
songs to guitar??

- Cool's Hideaway is closed, never to reopen with Johnny Cool.
The guy who owns the property has decided to let his wife open some
kinda bar business on the site so Johnny Cool is selling jewellery on
some beach, at least that's what I heard. Didn't see him though and
the location is just abandoned.

- Jumbies has closed and moved to the west coast.
There was nothing going on at that spot and it didn't look like anyone
was going to take over.

- Braddies now serves lunch everyday. Still hasn't recovered from
the renovation. I don't think anyone goes there on Friday's
anymore. He really screwed that up.

:bravo:
Super Info. Dieses Forum ist besser informiert als wir „Locals“. Was würde ich ohne diese Infoquelle machen? Klasse Arbeit.
